Brooke Hessler, Ph.D. is a storyworker at StoryCenter, facilitating digital storytelling workshops and mentoring community-engaged researchers and educators in the Digital Storytelling Online Certificate Program. She is also an enthusiastic member of the Santa Fe, New Mexico community of glass artists–as a student at the Institute of American Indian Arts, and as a studio instructor at the Bullseye Glass Resource Center. For over 20 years Brooke has worked as a community arts activist and educator, helping people tell their stories, finding more ways to listen.

From 2002 to 2016, Brooke was Eleanor Lou Carrithers Chair of Writing and Composition at Oklahoma City University. From 2016 to 2022, she was Director of Learning Resources at California College of the Arts. And for as long as she can remember, she has been a volunteer writing tutor, most recently with the magical 826 Valencia / Pixar Story Xperiential program for youth in the San Francisco Bay Area. In Santa Fe, Brooke serves on the Board of Directors of Little Globe, which works with community members to create film and multi-arts projects across New Mexico and the world.
